IKONPRINT - Partnership

IKONPRINT was founded in 2006 and is located in Vordingborg, Denmark. IKONPRINT mainly produces safety labels, logistics labels, and thermo labels, but also has a great deal of expertise in the production of RFID-labels – widely used for administration of library books. IKONPRINT delivers labels for libraries and logistics companies all over the world and exports roughly 70% of their production worldwide.

The Beginning – a digital leap

Our Partnership began when IKONPRINT took a digital leap by becoming the first Danish printer to buy and install the new Nilpeter digital UV-InkJet product line, PANORAMA. The move was a direct result of an increased number of incoming orders, and thus an urgent need to expand production capacity.

As you may remember, the first test runs made during IKONPRINT’s acquisition of the PANORAMA were of such high quality that they decided to skip further testing and jump straight into the production of two customer orders – namely the production of around 500,000 wristbands for Bakken Amusement Park near Copenhagen, Denmark and the labels for Braunstein’s Organic Easter Beer.

An Easy Decision

IKONPRINT CEO Thomas Nielsen thoroughly examined the market for UV-InkJet digital presses before choosing Nilpeter’s PANORAMA.

”Besides the obvious advantages of having a supplier close to our facilities, the high print quality, high uptime, and smart workflow made it an easy decision for us. Nordic Innovation Day

“Working with Thomas Nielsen and the IKONPRINT team has been an absolute pleasure,” says Nilpeter Sales & Marketing Director Jakob Landberg, “which is why we also invited them to speak at our recent Nordic Innovation Day, where 45 label converters from the Nordic countries attended to gain insight into current topics such as multi-layer labels, low migration inks, and LED flexo printing,” he concludes.

Beer Labels and More

Besides the previously mentioned Bakken Amusement Park wristbands and Braustein beer labels, IKONPRINT’s PANORAMA digital press has produced labels for industrial coating and paints, wine & spirits, as well as cosmetics.
